"Complete Bar" Giveaway!

I haven't hosted a giveaway on my blog for quite some time. I was going to wait until April, which is my two year "blog-iversary" but I was recently asked to make about twelve batches of my granola bars for an upcoming Columbus Dietetic Association meeting so I thought I could give some away as a blog giveaway!

Do you remember when I posted about my granola bars a while back? I asked you to help me come up with a name for my bars and while "Candid Bar" was the top choice, I decided to go with "Complete Bar".

Good source of iron!

One-half serving (cup) of fruit!

12 grams of whole grain!

Great name for your bar!

In a snack bar I look for whole ingredients, good fats, not too much sugar, and a good amount of protein. I also try to stay away from ingredients I can't pronounce.

To be honest, all bars seem to hurt my stomach so what I look for in a bar is it to not bother my tummy- I'm hoping yours won't because you make it yourself haha.

I look for something filling, or rather, something that will hold me over until my next meal. I'm a sucker for a softer texture and I love when I can pull the pieces apart and mix them into my yogurt at lunch, too!

I follow your blog, I like you on facebook, and what I look for in a bar is:

at least 4g of protein
some fiber
some healthy ingredients

I look for bars that have high nutrient density, higher amount of both protein and fiber, healthy fats, definitely vegetarian ingredients, and nothing fake (i.e., whole/organic ingredients instead of chemicals or unrecognizable/processed ingredients.) And I don't really like coconut or chocolate. Whew! Yes - I am picky. So your bars look like they'd really hit the mark for me and I hope I get the chance to try them!! :)

Lauren said...

Do you think people want to try these bars? Well throw my name in the hat. Still cracks me up that bar now means snack versus place where you drink. Having said that, in a nutrition bar I look for calories below or around 200ish, some protein for satiety, not too much sugar and good ingredients.

cindy said...

I look for whole foods I can pronounce, and a minimum of ingredients. Your bars sound great

Kady said...

I look for bars with a flavor I like (of course), not too much sugar, some protein, and not too much fiber (I get more than enough of that!). Your bars look great!

Finally I read an article that makes sense with regards to placement of words as well as well as the ideas. I like reading such simple articles. By the way the articles you write are too informative and surely very helpful.
