Good morning! I hope everyone's weeks are starting off well. So far I've been productive and am still giving myself time to enjoy my summer. I'm sort of coming to grips with the fact that this will be my last summer vacation EVER, unless I become a teacher :(

On Saturday I got this "Lovely Blog Award" from Kelly at She Wears a Red Sox Cap. Thanks Kelly! Does anyone with a Mac know how I can get this on my blog? I'm not good with pictures!
Ok onto today's post!
Health and SexWhen I think of "health" I think of being free from disease and being physically, emotionally, and mentally balanced. Another part of good health is having good sexual balance, and relationship balance, right? Even though sex is still sometimes considered a topic that should be kept hidden, it's incredibly important for those who are currently, or in the future, in serious relationships. I think having good sexual balance can have an impact on anyone's health and well-being. Having good sexual balance has to start somewhere, so check out the following list of foods that you should eat to increase your sex drive. Notice they are all foods that should be recommended on a normal basis!
I thank the Today Show for the following list of "Foods for a Good Sex Drive".
Pomegranate (and POM juice!)
The antioxidants in pomegranates are good for increased blood flow, especially to the areas of importance, if you know what I mean...Ok, so this wasn't on the Today Show list, however I have heard that avocado is supposed to help women and men have better orgasms. I'm not sure what the mechanism is though.
Asparagus is packed with vitamin E, which apparently stimulates the production of sex hormones!

Chocolate
The phenyl ethylamine found in chocolate is said to release the same hormones that are released during sex. It was also mentioned that an Italian study found that women who ate more chocolate had a higher sex drive. This is good news for chocolate lovers :)Vitamin C helps the libido (sex drive).
Banana
The potassium and B vitamins help boost the production of sex hormones.
More Fun in the Kitchen
Gina's "Somewhat" Greek Salad

I mixed them all up with EVOO, balsamic vinaigrette, pepper, and garlic powder. Very refreshing.
Turkey Burger Wrap
What do you get what you combine a whole wheat wrap, cooked bell peppers, sauteed mushrooms, swiss cheese, and chopped up turkey burgers?
A delicious turkey wrap! I also added some mixed greens and red hot. Mmm, what a delicious concoction.
Random Question: I'm working for my adviser this summer on creating a food safety website. What are some things about websites that you LOVE, and what are some things you HATE? For example; I hate it when websites have pictures that move, or that change every two seconds. I find it very distracting!
Thanks for reading today. Stay tuned for my next post, which will reveal my philosophy on sweeteners! Have a great week.

What a fun post! Certainly unique ;)
Websites...I hate it when ads come up and scroll across the page and you can't get rid of them. So annoying! Also just clear labelling of sections and topics to make for easy navigation. Good luck!
This was fun! And I love Greek salads; the combination of tomatoes, cucumbers & onions is just soooo good! And I love to add a little bit of feta; well, I love to add cheese to about anything... ;)
I second everything Lara has said regarding websites. I also think it's best if there isn't "too much going on."
I had no idea about any of those foods! Maybe asparagus but I thought that was more due to it's shape :P
Agree it's annoying when pictures change/flash. I love websites that make it easy to find stuff with good menus/ways to find your way around. Easy on the eye is important- so many sites are just huge chunks of text that I usually can't be bothered to sit and stare at the screen to read it. Things like bulleted lists are good- though is this aimed at the public or for professionals?
Ooooh, I love the sexy foods post! ;-) I'll never think of guacamole the same way again... ;-) In undergrad I actually took a fascinating course on aphrodisiac foods (strange but fun topic for an entire college course, no? :-), which used an, um, orgy cookbook for the textbook... Some of the recipes in the book were quite strange, and I think should probably never be actually prepared... :-p Anyrate, randomness aside, the course mostly considered aphrodisiac foods from a sociological perspective, and ever since I've been wondering which foods would be considered aphrodisiacs from a nutritional/biochemical perspective! Thank you for answering my question!! :-) The things I wonder about sometimes... :-) *giggles*
Speaking of sexy foods, that's one gorgeous turkey wrap you created! :-)
Your food safety website sounds awesome, and most impressive! I quite agree with Lara's suggestion for clear labeling - I love a website that's aesthetically pleasing but still uncomplicated to navigate. Looking forward to hearing more about the site as it evolves!
I would have to agree with the moving pictures Gina. I don't like it at all. umm...I like it when a website is intuitive..like if there's an info I would like to know...there's a link for that..and nice visuals..I appreciate good pictures..
Congrats on the award!
Love the sexy foods list, too. :-)
As for websites, I like clean designs with clear photos. I agree with other people who said that an easy to navigate site is important. Looking forward to seeing the site when it's done!
Good luck with everything thesis related, too!
I haven't heard anything from Skinny in the City either. Do you think we should email Rachel again?
Thanks for the comment, You're too nice! made me smile :) I love greek salad, or pretty much anything greek. Sex foods, interesting topic. I seem to eat all these and for some reason I'm not too interested all the time haha! A lot of the time the mind plays an important role too.
Definitely don't like too many ads or if sites are too busy.
awesome wrap!! :)
I hate when they have flashing pictures and sounds really bother me too. haha
Great post- awesome topic idea! And, I have to say - I love all the foods you recommended!
On websites - the cleaner the better- meaning, I don't like too much to look at all at once. I guess I'm saying organization is important- everything clearly laid out and easy to find.
Good luck!
haha! Love the "sex talk"..although it doesn't apply to me JUST yet! ;)
I hate hate when websites have pop-up ads all over! gahh! And more and more are having them (probably need more money)!
Lol. I'm eating banana oats right now with chocolate...I must be one sexy mama right now!
Things I hate abt websites: pop-up ads, stupid music, tough navigation, tacky colors, wordiness.
Things I love abt websites: simplicity, easy, efficient navigation
Thats a lovely salad and great topic too!!!
I agree, I hate distracting pictures on websites which are irrelevant.
Hmm...I agree with angie on the cleaner layout comment. Clear tabs/divisions, pictures make things more interesting for sure.
great sex talk. I believe that food affects every single aspect of life, so sexy life too! :)
I like website that is simple, clear, big fonts, easy to find things.
what I hate: too many information in one page, that confuses me.
that's a fun post and nice info...thanks for sharing Gina. And congrats on ur award, u sure deserve many more!
